花排成顶生或腋生的总状花序或穗状花序，雄花在苞腋多朵簇生或排成团伞花序；雄花具花瓣，萼片覆瓦状或镊合状排列，花丝离生，在花蕾时花丝内弯，不育雌蕊缺；雌花通常无花瓣，子房3室。
本族4属；我国产1属。
